Phase Contrast Microscopy
LOFLIN's laboratory uses Phase Contrast
Microscopy as outlined in the National Institute for
Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) 7400 method.
LOFLIN Laboratory personnel have received certification
of successful completion of NIOSH Course No. 582 "Sampling
and Evaluation of Airborne Asbestos Dust.”
Loflin Environmental Services, Inc's
Asbestos Laboratory is a successful participant in the
NIOSH Proficiency Analytical Testing (PAT) Program for
the analysis of air samples. Loflin Environmental Services,
Inc. has achieved a rating of "proficient”
since participation was initiated in 1987, demonstrating
LOFLIN's established high degree of quality control
in PCM analysis.
Analysis of air samples by other recognized
techniques, such as Transmission Electron Microscopy
(TEM) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) are also
available through Loflin.
